3 reasons the Galaxy A37 is the upgrade A33 users can’t ignore in 2026

3 reasons the Galaxy A37 is the upgrade A33 users can’t ignore in 2026

If you're still using the Galaxy A33 in 2026, the phone has already proved its worth. That said, time catches up with everything, and the A33 is nearing the end of its run. Android 16 is its final OS upgrade, which makes this a good moment to consider moving on.

The good news is Samsung hasn’t skipped a beat with yearly refreshes, and the latest Galaxy A37 is a clear step up from the 2022 model. Here are three reasons it’s worth an upgrade.

Superior build quality and design

As most Galaxy A33 owners already know, the phone offers IP67 protection, a plastic frame and back, and Gorilla Glass 5. Solid for the price point in 2022, but nothing special.

The Galaxy A37 improves the A33 formula on nearly every front. It keeps the plastic frame but also elevates the user experience with the following upgrades:

  • IP68 rating for better water resistance
  • Gorilla Glass Victus+ on both the display and back
  • A more modern design
  • Infinity-O cutout instead of Infinity-U
  • Slimmer lower bezel (chin)
  • Thinner 7.4mm body — down from 8.1mm

A bigger, better display

Perhaps the most striking difference you'll notice if you replace your Galaxy A33 with the newer Galaxy A37 is its size, and not in a bad way.

The Galaxy A37 features a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED panel, and those extra 0.3 inches of screen real estate make a noticeable difference for media consumption and web browsing.

But the A37's screen is not just bigger. It's also brighter at 1900 nits and smoother with a 120Hz refresh rate, making it a clear upgrade across the board.

Better support and longer lifespan

If you're still using the Galaxy A33 in 2026, it probably means you value longevity. And thankfully, in that regard, the Galaxy A37 is a whole lot better.

The Galaxy A33 launched before Samsung expanded its update policy, so it’s capped at four major OS upgrades. Android 16 is its last, even if it might still get minor One UI refinements.

The Galaxy A37, on the other hand, ships with One UI 8.5 and is promised six major Android upgrades, taking it up to Android 22.

All things considered, if you’re planning to retire your Galaxy A33, it’s worth checking Samsung’s trade-in deals if they’re available in your region.

Keep in mind that the three main features above are not exhaustive. The Galaxy A37 brings numerous other upgrades worth checking out. For a more in-depth look at the new model, check out our full Galaxy A37 review and video below.
